-Primeiro eu gostava de saber uma coisa simples, O que conhecer acerca do Britney Portugal? Alguma vez ouviu falar de nós?

Eu sou familiar com todos os caseiros e internacionais fan sites. A maioria é incrivelmente apoiante de Britney e eu falo com muitos deles- alguns estão mais dentro da auto promoção e fechados a trabalhar juntos o que depois cria drama, então eu tendo a evitar esse tipo de fan sites.

-Muitas pessoas não sabem quem está por detrás de um web site. Pode-nos dizer algo acerca de si? É homem ou mulher? Jovem ou adulto?

Eu sou uma mãe de 44 anos, casada- a viver na Califórnia. Eu tenho conhecimentos em escrita online, marketing e vários projectos na internet ao longo da minha carreira. Eu comecei o PoorBritney.com como um passatempo porque eu queria acompanhar notícias e fofocas de Britney Spears. Eu simplesmente comecei a escrever acerca dela então foi como o PoorBritney.com nasceu. -Como explica todas as fontes que o PoorBritney tem?

Eu penso que nos últimos 3 anos eu desenvolvi algumas bonitas e boas relações com montes de pessoas diferentes. Algumas delas são leitores que seguem tudo da Britney, e algumas são fontes dentro da indústria o que é muito bom para mim. Por que eu tento publicar notícias e fofocas, muitas dessas fontes me contaram e confiaram que eu não iria alterar o que eles me diziam, e eu iria publicar a informação como rumor ou notícias – para não confundir os fãs. Eu penso que por causa de eu ser de confiança, as fontes confiam em mim. Com o passar do tempo, essas fontes tendem a dar me a conhecer outras fontes e a construções amigáveis. Tu tens que ter uma boa reputação ou ninguém te irá dizer nada. As minhas fontes confiam em mim e devem. Eu nunca irei mentir ou reportar algo apenas para ser favorecida nem nunca irei revelar uma fonte se elas me pediram para não o fazer. Por outro lado, as pessoas que me contam informação e querem ser creditadas- Eu faço a questão de creditar. Ninguém gosta de um blogger que rouba as histórias dos outros e não dão crédito. Eu rejeito a trabalhar com pessoas como essas.

-Sabe coisas que mais ninguém sabe? Informações que não está permitida a dizer?

Às vezes é-me dada informação antes do tempo acerca de certas sessões fotográficas ou músicas e eu não posso publicar nada a menos que a fonte me permita, e se eu estou capaz de confirmar isso como um rumor “viável” e não como um fã a procurar por atenção mencionando no twitter ou no website. Todos os dias eu obtenho 10-50 tópicos mas geralmente eu publicou apenas um ou dois. Toda a gente quer um pedaço de Britney.

-Quando começou a acompanhar Britney Spears?

Eu comecei a acompanhar Britney Spears aproximadamente em 2006. Eu lancei o PoorBritney.com em 2007 no cerne de todos os seus dramas por causa de eu me sentir incrivelmente mal por ela, e queria falar acerca disso. Eu calculei se lançasse um website acerca dela eu podia discuti-la com outros, e talvez oferecer um website aos fãs que nunca tiveram realmente um blogger de Britney para falar, ou discutir o modo como se sentiam. Eu queria que o site fosse diferente dos fan sites porque esse mercado é está realmente cheio de centenas de websites. Eu queria um site que fossem notícias, coscuvilhice, arte e cultura pop tudo em redor da Britney mas com foco onde as pessoas pudessem falar acerca dela de uma forma madura e não cheia de cromos da Internet a atacar os outros. Eu modero tudo no meu site e se as pessoas não estão ali para discutir Britney, essa pessoas não serão permitidas a comentar. Eu queria o site para permanecer fiel a “Britney” e sobre o tema da sua vida e carreira. É um longo caminho um curto tempo e eu estou verdadeiramente orgulhosa do tipo dos fãs da Britney que lêem os meus posts. Eles são incrivelmente pessoas inteligentes que a adoram.

-O Britney Portugal tem outro especial chamado “BS vs BS”. A primeira sondagem era para saber qual era o videoclip de Britney favorito dos fãs. O vencedor foi “Toxic”. Qual é o seu?

Eu adoro a “Toxic” mas eu tenho muitos favoritos e é difícil para mim escolher só um. Eu sempre adorei “Lucky”. Eu penso que é uma janela para o quão solitária a vida de Britney pode ser. Apesar de toda a fama.

-Actualmente estamos à procura do melhor álbum. A sua opinião?

Eu não tenho a certeza do que queres dizer com isso. Qual é o meu álbum preferido? Se sim, é Circus. Eu adoro a baladas e amo “Unusual You” e “Out From Under”. E toquei essas músicas 20 vezes por dia e nunca me cansava delas. Para mim, as baladas fazem-me sentir ligada à pessoal real que está a cantá-las. Eu penso que a Britney está no seu “real” ser durante as baladas. Elas são muito emotivas para mim o tempo todo.

-Alguma vez esteve pessoalmente com “A Princesa”? Se sim, como foi a experiência? Se não, gostar de estar com ela?

Eu vi a Britney algumas vezes em Los Angeles em público mas nunca estive tentada a tentar chegar até ela e lutar contra os paparazzi para chegar a ela. Eu sinto como se ela ainda fosse tratada de facto como um animal fechado então eu não quero ser uma dos que a perseguem. Se eu tivesse a minha chance de conhecê-la uma para uma, eu adorava apenas sentar a beira da piscina e conversar com ela como uma pessoa normal e apenas ouvi-la. Eu penso que se a Britney tivesse mais hábitos normais na sua vida e menos pessoas a tentar fazer alguma coisa com ela, seria mais feliz. Eu acho que ela iria amar ter verdadeiros amigos em quem pudesse confiar. Eu espero que ela encontre isso um dia.

-Turnê favorita?

“Circus” de longe. Para mim, esse foi o renascimento de Britney depois de todos os seus problemas. Todas a turnês anteriores foram excelentes e é um dado adquirido, mas Circus foi depois da performance falhada dos VMA em 2007 e toda a gente dizia que ela tinha acabado. “Circus” deu-lhe de volta aquele sentimento de ela costumar ser a número um, e o seu trabalho árduo foi pago com vendas de topo da sua turnê mundial e um álbum número um, singles, e tornando-se a cara da Candies. Ela ganhou cada pedacinho disso e deve ser incrivelmente difícil depois de tudo por que passou- então Circus tem um lugar especial no meu coração.

-Como reage com os maus feedbacks dos media e de algumas pessoas no que se refere a Britney Spears?

Eu sei que os media amam criar drama. Olhem a Lindsay Lohan. Ninguém se preocupa quando ela está a ser boa mas quando é atirada para a cadeira e ela faz primeira página em todo o lado- por todo o mundo. É apenas o modo que a máquina dos media funciona por isso não é pessoal. Eu sei o que a Britney significa para mim e como ela abençoou a minha vida com alguns dos melhores momentos musicais de sempre e eu adoro a sua fragilidade, personalidade compreensiva. Ela vem com uma transparência incrivelmente amorosa e clemente e é difícil encontrar isso nos músicos do seu nível.

- O que espera do novo álbum? Achas que iremos ter notícias em breve?

Eu espero uma grande nova era. Eu agora penso que ela tem visto como fez com “Circus” e tem a sua confiança de volta e sabe que os seus fãs a apoiam não importa no quê, Eu acho que ela podia expressar mais criatividade como uma espécie do “Blackout” com “Circus”. Eu espero vibrações pop- electro e espero de ter algumas novas baladas.

-Dentro das suas fontes, alguma lhe disse coisas acerca da nova era? Algum tipo de informação? Vídeos, nos promocionais da fragrância, singles…

Têm-me sido ditas algumas coisas mas até acontecerem, eu considero tudo isso apenas mexericos. As coisas com a Britney podem mudar muito rapidamente por isso apenas porque alguém tem informação um dia não significa que vai ser o mesmo da semana passada. A indústria é fluída e está sempre a mudar, por isso é apenas coscuvilhice até eu as ver. Actualmente contaram-me alguns rumores e ouvi alguns acerca do single e dos promocionais, mas iremos ver. Eu espero definitivamente ver um single este ano e esperançosamente ter o álbum antes do final de Dezembro. A Britney tem montes de colaboradores neste álbum o que pode explicar o porquê está a demorar tanto. Desde Sky a Myah, a Danja, Darkchild, Jon Asher, Ruscko é uma data de pessoas que têm que estar juntas para um projecto completo. Eu penso que este álbum será maravilhoso.

-Estará Britney Spears nos Video Musica Awards 2010?

Eu quero dizer que sim mas o meu interior diz que se ela participar na cerimonia será apenas para estar presente e não actuar. Num mundo perfeito, Britney iria lançar o seu single em Setembro e a seguindo-se com uma performance ao vivo nos VMA mas como é a vida da Britney- nós nunca sabemos até que aconteça. Relembrem-se quando o seu próprio website reportou que ela estaria lá e até eles estavam errados. Eu penso que a Britney faz o que ela quer, por isso se planeia fazer uma caminhada dos VMA, ela pode mudar a sua ideia a qualquer segundo e ninguém pode condenar isso porque It’s Britney bitch!

-First I’d like to know a simple thing, What do you know about Britney Portugal? Have you ever heard about us?

I’m familiar with all the domestic and international fan sites. Most are incredibly supportive of Britney and I talk with many of them- some are more into self promotion and closed off to working together rather than creating drama, so I tend to avoid those types of fan sites.

-Many people don’t know who are behind a web site. Can you tell us something about you? Are you male ou female? Teen or Adult?

I’m a 44 year old mother, married- living in California. I have a background in online writing, marketing and various internet projects throughout my career. I started PoorBritney.com as a hobby because I wanted to follow news and gossip on Britney Spears. I simply found myself having to write about her so that’s how PoorBritney.com was born. -How do you explain all the sources that PoorBritney have?

I think over the past 3 years I have developed some pretty good relationships with lots of different people. Some of them are readers who follow everything Britney, and some are sources within the industry that are very good to me. Because I try to report news and gossip, many of these sources trust that I won’t manipulate what they tell me, and I will post the information as either a rumor or news – as not to confuse fans. I think because I’m reliable, the sources trust me. As time goes by, those sources tend to introduce me to other sources and a friendship builds. You have to have a good reputation or nobody is going to tell you anything. My sources trust me and they should. I would never lie or report something just to be favored nor would I ever reveal a source if they ask me not to. On the other hand, people who tell me information and want to be credited- I always make sure to credit. Nobody likes a blogger who steals others’ stories and doesn’t give credit. I refuse to work with people like that.

-Do you know things that no one more knows? Informations that aren’t allowed to tell?

Sometimes I am given information ahead of time about certain photo shoots or music and I can’t always post everything unless a source allows me to, and if I am able to confirm its at least a “viable” rumor and not just a fan looking for attention by being mentioned on twitter or the website. Everyday I get at least 10-50 tips but often I only publish maybe one or two. Everybody wants a piece of Britney.

-When you started to follow Britney Spears?

I began following Britney Spears very closely in 2006. I launched PoorBritney.com in 2007 at the crux of all her troubles because I felt incredibly bad for her, and wanted to talk about it. I figured if I launched a website about her I could discuss her with others, and perhaps offer a website to fans who had never really had a Britney blogger to talk with, or discuss the way they felt. I wanted the site to be different from fan sites because that market is already full with thousands of websites. I wanted a site that was news, gossip, art and pop culture all surrounding only Britney but with a venue where people could talk about her in a mature manner and not filled with internet trolls attacking others. I moderate everything on my site and if people aren’t there to discuss Britney, those people are not permitted to comment. I wanted the site to stay true to “Britney” and on topic about her life and career. It’s come a long way in a short time and I’m really proud of the type of Britney fans that read my posts. They’re incredibly smart people who adore her.

-Britney Portugal has another Special named “BS vs BS”. The first poll was to know what were Britney’s fans fav videoclip. The winner was Toxic. What’s yours?

I love Toxic but I have so many favorites that it’s hard for me to list just one. I’ve always adored Lucky. I think it’s a window into how lonely Britney’s life can be. Despite all the fame.

-Currently we’re finding de best album. Your opinion?

I’m not sure what you mean by this. What is my favorite album? If so, it’s Circus. I adore ballads and love Unusual You and Out From Under. I play those songs 20 times a day and never get sick of them. For me, ballads make me feel connected to the real person whose singing them. I think Britney is at her “real” self during her ballads. They’re very emotional for me every time.

-Have you ever been personally with “The Princess”? If yes, how was the experience? If not, would you like to be with her?

I’ve seen Britney a couple of times in Los Angeles in public but I’ve never attempted to try and go up to her or fight through paparazzi to reach her. I feel like she’s already treated like a caged animal so I don’t want to be one of those stalking her. If I had my chance to meet her one on one, I’d love to just sit by the pool and talk to her like a normal person and just listen to her. I think if Britney had more normalcies in her life and less people trying to make something off her, she’d be happier. I think she’d love to have real friends she can trust. I hope she finds that one day.

-Fav tour?

Circus by far. For me, it was the rebirth of Britney after all of her troubles. All the tours prior were excellent and it was a given, but Circus was after the failed 2007 VMA performance and everyone saying she was over. Circus gave her back that feeling she was used to of being number one, and her hard work paid off with a top selling world tour and number one album, singles, and becoming the Candies spokesperson. She earned every bit of it and that must have been incredibly hard after everything she went through- so Circus has a special place in my heart.

-How do you react with the bad feedbacks from the media and some people about Britney Spears?

I know the media loves to create drama. Look at Lindsay Lohan. Nobody cares when she is being good but throw her in jail and she’s front page everywhere- worldwide. It’s just the way the media machine works so I don’t take it personal. I know what Britney means to me and how she has blessed my life with some of the best music moments ever – and I adore her fragile, understated personality. She comes across incredibly loving and forgiving and that’s hard to find in musicians’ of her caliber.

-What do you expect from the new album? Do you think we’ll have great news soon?

I expect a great new era. I think now that she has seen how well Circus did and has her confidence back and knows her fans stand by her no matter what; I think she may express more creativity of her own- sort of Blackout meets Circus. I expect a pop- electro vibe and hope I get a few new ballads.

-Inside your sources, anyone tell you things about the new era? Some kinda of information? Videos, new fragrance promos, singles…

I have been told a few things but until it materializes, I consider it all just gossip. Things with Britney can change very quickly so just because someone has information one day doesn’t mean it will be the same a week later. The industry is fluid and always moving, so its just gossip to until I see it. Currently I have been told a few rumors and heard some rumblings about the single and promos, but we’ll see. I expect to definitely see a single this year and hopefully the full album before the end of December. Britney has a ton of collaborators on this album which could explain why its taking so long. From Sky to Myah, to Danja, Darkchild, Jon Asher, Rusko- it’s a lot of people having to come together for a complete project. I think this album will be amazing.

-Will Britney Spears be at Video Music Awards 2010?

I want to say yes but my gut says if she does show, it would be just to be present and not perform. In a perfect world, Britney would release her single in September and follow it up with a live VMA performance but as is the life of Britney- we never know until it happens. Remember when her own website reported that she’d be there and even they were wrong. I think Britney does what she wants, so even if she plans on doing the VMA walk, she could change her mind at any second and nobody can do a damn thing about it because It’s Britney bitch!
